Heritage Crafts

All our products are handmade and individual, including fan carved birds and other decorative items, garden furniture, solid wooden chopping boards and other useful kitchen utensils from seasoned and green wood. We also make bespoke leather goods such as bags, wallets and bracelets.

Fan Carved Birds

Most friends who know us will realise the Wobbly Bodger loves making fan carved birds, handmade from a single piece of carefully selected larch, split approximately 40 times and manipulated to open out each individual feather. Each bird is unique and makes a stunning gift.

The Wobbly Bodger

In a centuries-old tradition, bodgers were itinerant wood-turners who cut timber from woodlands to turn chair legs on a very simple lathe. Today the word ‘bodger’ is used more generally for craftspeople who work green wood outdoors, using traditional country methods.

Green Woodworking Demonstrations
